Before leaving the RAF in the early 90s Michael studied part time, Fine Art and Graphic Design at Falmouth College of Art and Design. On leaving the Air Force he worked for 17 years at Holkham Hall until retirement in 2010. He worked as a volunteer caseworker for ssafa ( Forces Charity) for almost 5 years, until Dec 16. It was in retirement he has been able to concentrate on painting full time. Michael specialises in Marine and Aviation art but also enjoys the challenge of Wild Life work. He is an Associate Member of the Guild of Aviation Artists and has been lucky enough to have had work accepted for the Annual Exhibition in Mall Galleries for the past 9 years. He is the Chairman of the East Anglian Group of Marine Artists. Although works predominantly in acrylic he enjoys returning to oils from time to time, mostly when painting marine subjects.
